It was in July 1989 that Consuelo and Aurora, two sisters from Mexico, opened a small restaurant in order to introduce Mexican culture and food to their adopted homeland. Having learned their mother’s cooking and an impeccable rigor and work ethic, they knew they were well equipped to share the heat and sun of their native country. What was supposed to be a small neighborhood restaurant quickly turned into a gem of Montreal life and by the same token became a must for anyone wanting to discover or rediscover the typical Mexican cuisine. In the early 2000s, the sisters decided to move to accommodate more clients. Over time, what was to be the adventure of two sisters was transformed into a family business to the delight of the owners. Now, La Guadalupe Mexicana, stands out for its flavors, quality and authenticity that always honors the ancestors of the family.
